About Our ER Physicians Valley Emergency Physicians Medical Group (VEP) is a California Professional Corporation formed in 1981 whose stockholders are its practicing physicians and allied health providers. VEP provides emergency medicine and primary care physician services to more than 35 hospitals. Their administration office is located in Walnut Creek, California.
Their dedication to quality medical care and commitment to service is shown by the longevity of their client relationships. Many of their contracts have been in effect for over 10 years and some since 1981, when the group was formed. They currently track hundreds of data points, metrics, and quality measures to insure the best performance for their emergency departments.
VEP has over 500 physicians working as independent contractors for the group. In addition, VEP employs over 80 mid-level practitioners. Over 90% of our physicians are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or a Primary Care specialty. Their client hospitals range from urban trauma centers to rural community hospitals. They look at each provider to help match their strengths and background with each hospital and its community.
Effective public relations are emphasized at their sites. This includes not only the general public that they serve, but also the administrative, nursing and medical staffs of their client facilities. Patient satisfaction is taken very seriously at each and every one of the facilities they serve and are scores are some of the best in the industry.
Involvement in Pre-Hospital Care is a requirement for Emergency Department physicians that work at their client facilities. Many of their physicians serve as Base Station Directors or Medical Directors in some capacity with the local EMS agency at other facilities.
VEP's Hospitalist programs provide physicians the opportunity to deliver comprehensive hospital-based care without the constraints of an office practice. Physicians are scheduled in 1-2 week blocks, allowing maximum flexibility. VEP's hospitalist programs also assist the hospital in admitting all unassigned patients, generating new revenue for the hospital by transferring fewer patients and increasing hospital admissions.
There is no better choice for emergency care in your community.
