|

Description:
Experience in Case Management for Short Term Acute Care Hospitals preferred. Familiar with ICD-9 CM, Severity of Illness; (MS-DRG). Familiar with reimbursement for Medicare, Medi-cal and HMO hospital services.
Duties include: Work with physicians and service provider facilities for continuity in case coordination and proper discharge plan. Maintain case records and provide assistance with appropriate documentation. Able to initiate and complete Treatment Authorization Requests for Medi-cal Patients, HMO patients and justification of admission versus observation status. Continuity of hospitalization for all Payors. Assist with prevention/education curriculum development and presentations for physicians, nurses and ancillary service providers.
