East Valley Hospital Medical Center is committed to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals through our scholarship program. This scholarship program is named after one of our dedicated community Governing Board Members. Ms. Flores has been a board member for over nine years. Her supportive, dedicated, passionate, and giving spirit to the communities of the East San Gabriel Valley is one of the main forces behind our organization creating this scholarship in her honor.

East Valley Hospital Medical Center recognizes that graduating seniors are making decisions on what pathway they will follow in their life. Some may decide to pursue a higher education and attend a four year university. Others may make decisions to attend technical colleges and seek careers that they may start within one or two years. In any case, scholarships play an important role in a student’s life. Many students with potential to succeed and be an asset to our community may be unable to choose this path due to lack of financial resources. Our organization has recognized that most students would have a hard time continuing their education without getting scholarships. Every financial contribution a student receives makes a difference in helping achieve their goals.

Criteria

• Senior accepted into a Junior College, 4-year college, or Trade School pursuing a career in healthcare (nursing, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, medical, or healthcare administration).
• Involved in their community or volunteer in community activities
• Good citizenship and involved in school activities
• Outstanding in Science area of studies
